The Davao Doctors Hospital’s (DDH) Ribbon of HOPE (ROH) campaign recently celebrated its 4th anniversary by giving recognition to its iPledge donors and in observance of World Cancer Day.
World Cancer Day is celebrated every 4th of February. World Cancer Day originated in 2000 at the first World Summit Against Cancer in Paris, France.
The iPledgers were joined by Mr. Raymund Del Val, DDH President, and CEO, and Ms. Mirasol B. Tiu, DDH Vice President for Human Resources and Administration and Director of Balik Alay Foundation together with Dr. Rizalina Mintra-Pangan, President of Balik Alay Foundation.
DDH launched the Ribbon of Hope in 2016 which aimed to provide a transient home for adopted indigent cancer patients and their caregivers during the period of cancer treatment under the “Adopt Cancer Patient Program.”
To date, there over 175 donors and iPledgers for the program.
DDH together with the Balik Alay Foundation has thanked all iPledgers for their generosity as they serve as inspiration for others to join its advocacy in promoting cancer awareness to the community. Along with the Charter of Paris Against Cancer, DDH, Balik Alay Foundation, and Ribbon of Hope are committed to improving the quality of life of cancer patients and to be at the forefront in taking initiatives for the and advancement of cancer research, prevention, and treatment.
