On March 15, 2024, Davao Doctors Hospital (DDH) and St. Jude Shrine Parish came together in a spirit of collaboration and commitment to community well-being. The occasion marked the official signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), cementing a partnership aimed at extending healthcare services to indigent members and parishioners of St. Jude Shrine Parish.
The signing ceremony, attended by members of both institutions, including representatives from DDH’s Community Development Committee, Balik-Alay Foundation, Inc., and Doctors from the Internal Medicine Department, and the Pediatric Department, was a testament to the shared vision of improving healthcare access to the community. Among those present were Dr. Maria Theresa G. Banes (Associate Director for Doctors Engagement) and Dr. Diane Carla C. Bernardo (Internal Medicine Department Training Officer) who showed their support for the partnership.
Central to the joint agreement is the provision of complimentary healthcare services through DDH’s Outpatient Department (OPD) – Service Case Free Clinic. This initiative will provide invaluable medical support and assistance to those in need by offering free consultation services conducted by skilled doctors from the Internal Medicine and Pediatric Departments. Through this program, DDH and St. Jude Shrine Parish aim to address the healthcare needs of underserved communities, aligning with the hospital’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs.
The partnership is a milestone for DDH and St. Jude Shrine Parish, as it reflects a shared dedication to promoting good health and well-being within our community and highlights the impact of partnerships in driving positive change.
Reverend Father Roy F. Mejias, the Parish Priest of St. Jude Shrine Parish, and Ms. Mirasol B. Tiu, Chief Operations Officer of DDH, represented both institutions in the signing ceremony, putting into paper their commitment to serve and give back to the community.
