DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Davao Doctors Hospital (DDH) officially opened its state-of-the-art Emergency Department on March 18, 2026, marking both a tribute to its history and a step forward into the future. This milestone in the hospital’s master plan brings unmatched accessibility and specialized care to the heart of the city.

An Intimate Tribute: The Founders’ Preview
Before opening its doors to the general public, DDH management hosted a special, intimate preview on March 13, 2026. The event was organized specifically for the hospital’s founding families and their living heirs, offering them a first look at the progress achieved over five decades of service.
The highlight of the gathering was a poignant message delivered by Dr. Rizalina Mitra-Pangan, one of the three remaining founders of DDH. At 95 years old, Dr. Pangan shared her reflections on the institution’s enduring mission.

“Legacy is not just what you leave behind, but what you put into people,” Dr. Pangan shared in her heartfelt address. “Our work is never done—each generation must continue to evolve and rise to new needs. Today, with great joy, we open this new ER—a symbol of commitment to progress.”

Following the private preview, the new Emergency Department officially opened to the public on March 18, 2026. Strategically designed for maximum accessibility, the facility is easily reachable via the city’s major thoroughfares: Quirino Avenue, Gov. Duterte Street, and Mt. Apo Street.
